Dear Peggy, I am planning a wedding on St. Simons in the Fall, no definite date yet. do you know of any outdoor settings for the ceremony?     Thank you.  Cindy from Atlanta

Dear Cindy,
Yes, I do know of some outdoor settings but I cannot recommend them. in the fall because we do deal with hurricanes which are very unpredictable.  My suggestion would be to pick a location on the  water that also has an inside option.  By doing that, you have eliminated a major level of stress. If you do not have the inside option, you then are dealing with a mess!!!  Icould share many stories of wedding ceremonies that had to be relocated due to inclement weather.  Don't do this to yourself! if you are interested in indoor/outdoor options, email me and I'll send you some brochures.

Peggy, I am from the mid-west and am having my wedding on St. Simons.   What exactly are my obligations to the out-of -town guests?  (about 40)  Thanks, Debbie

Dear Debbie, Of course, your first obligation is to provide an enjoyable weekend for your guests. Their lodging is their responsibility   You should send them a list of hotels with rates.  Also include in their arrival package some points of interest to visit in their down time - local restaurants, hair salons -- and any other  helpful information.  As far as the rehearsal dinner -- if it is large, that  could include the out of town  guests.  If not, perhaps suggest a place where they could gather and have fun.  At your wedding, just make sure you take the time to have "mini-visits" with the various  guests and thank them for coming!   Good luck with your planning.

Dear Peggy,  in the "South", if the bridesmaids wear long, formal dresses, must the ushers/groomsmen wear black tie or is a suit/tie acceptable.
Annie from New Jersey

Dear Annie, Really it's your wedding and you dictate.   I would say either is acceptable.
